The Baker family had 3 brothers, Hiatt, Maurice and Lionel and 2 cousins, Herbert and Roland play for Clifton. Hiatt and Maurice played in the first match against Bristol in 1889. Hiatt, Maurice and Lionel were the sons of William and Hannah Baker. Herbert and Roland were the sons of Thomas Baker. When he died Thomas Baker left in his will in 1898, £225,853 0s 6d, the equivalent in todays terms to over £21 million.
Herbert Midelton Baker
He was born on the 24th April 1863 Bristol. He was the eldest son of Thomas Baker. He was educated at Rugby School from 1877 to 1881. He joined Clifton RFC 1896-7 aged 33. He married Catherine Edwards Bennett, the sister of Clifton player Henry Ryan Bennett (who died in World War 1), on the 25th April 1900 at the Parish Church in Westbury-on-Trym.
In 1911 the Baker's had been married 10 years and had 3 children. They were living at The Holmes, Stoke Bishop, Bristol.

Above Herbert Midelton Baker's signature
He died in 1943. His son Captain Geoffrey H. M. Baker was killed in WW2 in Libya on 29th May 1942.
He was born on the 30th June 1860. He was the eldest son of William Baker. He was educated at Rugby School from 1877 to 1880. He was Clifton and Gloucestershire captain and an England International.
Lionel Gray Baker.
He was born in Bristol on the 9th September 1880. He was the third son of William Baker. He was educated at Rugby School from 1894 to 1896. He joined Clifton RFC in 1898-9. He died in Holborn, London in (Jan-Mar) 1919, aged only 38.
He was born on the 8th March 1867 in Bristol. He was the second son of William Baker. He was educated at St. Dunstans College, London, Rugby School from 1881 to 1886 and Oriel College, Oxford. He joined Clifton RFC in 1886-87. He was a Barrister. He died on the 22nd November 1936, in Southbourne, Hampshire.
Roland Midelton Baker
He was born on the 25th February 1876 in Clifton, Bristol. He was the seventh son of Thomas Baker. He was educated at Rugby School from 1890 to 1894. He joined Clifton RFC in 1898-99 aged 22. A member of Bristol Stock Exchange from 1903. In 1931 he was living at 131 Pembroke Road, Clifton, Bristol. He died in ?
