Born 7th August 1891 Balvanera, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Son of Thomas Conroy Fair, Merchant, and Catherine L. (nee Reid). Baptised 6th October 1891 St. John's Cathedral, Buenos Aires. The Fair family were originally from Coldstream, Berwickshire. His father died when he was only 6 years old on 29th September 1897. 2nd Lt. Coldstream Guards WW1. Family lived at Woodside, Walton-by-Clevedon, Somerset. Killed in action 28th September 1915 Loos, France. He was shot by a German sniper while bringing in a wounded man at Loos. Commemorated on the Loos Memorial. Roll of Honour at St John's Church, Clevedon and the Walton St Mary Roll of Honour. His brother George Patrick Fair, of the Somerset Light Infantry, was also killed in action 9 months later.
