Clifton 35 Liverpool St. Helens 21
In winning the Courage Division 4 Shield, Clifton did not lose a single league match all season.
This match provided a seminal moment in persuading the team that it could win the league that year. Liverpool St Helens had the former England centre Kevin Simms in their team, and his Clifton opposite number Peter Naivalurua was very pumped up to be playing against him. On the day and perhaps against their expectations, Clifton finished comfortable winners by 35-21.
