He was born on the 10th June 1957 in Bristol to Italian parents. Educated at St. Brendan's College and coached under Elwyn Price who went on to be Cliftons first coach.He played for Bristol, Gloucestershire and captained England u23s but was never selected for a full international. During the mid 1980s he played for an Italian XV and was encouraged to move to Italy with the prospect of playing for the Country, but although tempted he decided to stay in Bristol where he had just started a business. He joined Clifton in June 1990 and went on to coach them until moving to St. Mary's Old Boys in 2001.
