Born ?. Educated at St. Brendan's, Bristol and Exeter University.

He played for England Schools. He joined Clifton RFC in 1972-73. He briefly joined Bristol in 1974-75. He played 10 games for them but didn't settle. He returned to Clifton where he played until 1980-81. He played for the South & South West Counties against Australia at Bath on the 27th October 1973 and had a trial for England on the 15th December 1973 at Bristol.

Above the South & South West Counties side that played and beat Australia at Bath on the 27th October 1973 with Clifton's Peter Johnson. He was carried off on a stretcher and taken to Bath Hospital.

Above programme cover and teamsheet of the England trial match when Peter Johnson played for the South Western and Southern Counties against Metropolitan Counties on the 15th December 1973. The game was originally arranged to be played at Redruth but was switched to the Memorial Ground at Bristol. The Soth and South West won 20-6.
He went on to become Director of Rugby at Penzance & Newlyn RFC (now Cornish Pirates) and then England Academy Manager at Bristol Rugby until May 2006.
He is now Director of Rugby at Bristol University.
