Colonel Gilbert Castle, M.C.,T.D.,D.L.
dies in July 1981 aged 88. His career with Clifton Rugby Club spanned 66 years.

Moment of elation for
Above programme cover and teamsheet for the John Player Cup Final which Bristol won 28-22. Alan Morley and Pete Polledri went on to coach at Clifton. Simon Hogg, Ralph Knibbs and Kevin Bogira went on to play for Clifton. In the Leicester side was Clive Woodward and a 20 year old Dean Richards.
